Tell No One film locations in Paris

LOCATION: Paris
FILM: Tell No One

Tell No One (Ne le dis à personne) is possibly the best thriller of 2007 and without doubt one of the finest French movies ever made. I actually bought this on DVD and was stunned by a card that I found inside the DVD box suggesting I (Not me personally, it was an advert of some sort) visit the set and even telling me where to get the hotels to do so from!! After a piece of scary coincidence like that I just had to go so I jumped on the Eurostar and headed to Paris. This is the plot intro…

Eight years ago, Margot Beck (Marie-Josée Croze) was murdered by a serial killer. Though the killer has confessed to eight of these murders, he has always denied being responsible for Margot’s death. However, the specific mutilations found on her body seem to confirm his guilt. Today, Alexandre Beck (Francois Cluzet), her husband, is still deeply psychologically injured by the loss of Margot. He temporarily escapes his memories during the day by immersing himself completely in his work as a paediatrician. Outside of that, only the friendship he has formed with Hélène Perkins (Kristen Scott Thomas) saves him from total isolation from the rest of the world. But when two new bodies are uncovered near where Margot’s body was discovered, Margot’s case is reopened. At the same time, Alexandre receives a strange e-mail with a link to a video-surveillance web-cam and a time at which to watch it

This little known movie won numerous awards (including 4 Cesar’s and 2 E’toile d’Or awards) for everything from best actor and best film to best soundtrack and best editing. Even if you don’t have any intention of visiting Paris go and see this film!

Abduction: The Forest of Rambouillet is the setting for the midnight lake scene where the main abduction takes place. It’s a truly beautiful setting and Rambouillet can be found to the south-west of Versaille.

The Big Chase: As Beck tries to escape his pursuers there is a major foot chase through Paris that passes through the well known flea market of Saint Ouen this scene is most memorable as “the bit where he ends up in wheelie bin with rat”.
