Joining Jason Bourne on tour…

There is one man who has spent more time travelling stunning European locations over the last 5 years than any other and that man is Matt Damon aka Jason Bourne!

There have been three Bourne films in the last five years and the list of cities featured within the movies reads more like a geography revision schedule - and I hate Geography, I only took it at school because I hated history more. My view was always would you rather know where something is or where something was?

Anyway I digress, I can’t possibly cover all of the locations that feature within the Bourne series but I have picked out a few from each film that caught my eye.

BOURNE IDENTITY:

Bourne’s Apartment, Paris: You can find the exterior of Jason’s apartment in Paris on Avenue Kleber, Paris 8

Finale, Greece: The happy reunion at the end of the movie is shot on the island of Mykanos just off the Greek coast and with regular ferries from the mainland it is a great place to have a drink and catch up (terrible chase pun, sorry!)

Car Chase Paris: I am actually including this so that no-one tries to work out the route! None of the roads scene in the chase actually connect to each other so it is an impossible task.

BOURNE SUPREMACY:

The Hotel, Berlin: Berlin’s famous Grand Hotel, now the Westin Grand, plays a key role in Bourne Supremacy. With both the interior and exterior being utilized.

Meeting Nicky, Berlin: The location where Nicky (Julia Stiles) waits for Bourne after he has scheduled the meeting is the Alexanderplatz.

The Grid, Berlin: For the scenes where Bourne first enters “the grid” in Naples, interiors were shot in the famed Messe Berlin, a towering example of Nazi architecture, which would service as the Naples customs house.

BOURNE ULTIMAUTUM:

Waterloo Station, London: This is where Jason Bourne attemts to meet with the Times Journalist. You can see exactly where the sniper took his shot from and the shop that Bourne hides in is actually the threshers on the main concourse.

Plaza Major, Madrid: Start at Madrid Chamartin Station where Bourne arrives in Madrid and take a taxi to the Plaza Mayor. The Plaza Mayor is one of Madrid’s main attractions and it’s surrounded by the many streets explored by Jason Bourne and adorned with café’s and bars.

My suggestion is that if you are planning on going to any of the following cities makes sure that you have seen the movies because you are more than likely to stumble across a filming location on your travels
